Discussion Guides for Group Events

Do people you know have concerns about violent-sounding passages in the Hebrew Bible, New Testament, or Quran? Would you like to build your skills in engaging with challenging passages in your own scriptures or in scriptures from another tradition, and in addressing common concerns about them? Does your group want to learn to recognize and respond to common assumptions and prejudices about religion, scripture, and violence – the type that are regularly encountered in the media, on the internet, and in daily life?

You can get the conversation started using our free resources. Suitable for online or in-person events, we’ve designed all of our resources to be accessible even for groups who don’t know much about the scriptures or religious traditions in question. We’ve also provided extra notes for leaders and facilitators, to help you feel confident leading discussion.
